People often use the term “addiction” to describe things like drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes, but this isn’t appropriate. Using alcohol or tobacco once can be fun for some people, but using them repeatedly is not.
Addictions are sometimes referred to as chemical dependencies because of that similarity with other substances that have damaging effects when used frequently.
But there is a significant difference: Addiction is always a mental problem. It’s not just a matter of someone having a drink too much one time or the other.
We are dedicated to providing those suffering from addiction and mental health issues with the integrated treatment solutions that will set them and their loved ones up for recovery that can last a lifetime and enable them to live the healthy, happy lives they deserve.
